To The Friends of Dave

Though we are still saddened and struggling in our hearts and mind with the recent loss of our beloved friend Dave Tousignant, a small group of the many friends of Dave have some wonderful and exciting news to share.
Everyone who knows Dave, knows that he excelled as an athlete in football and wrestling. From comments made by many of his peers, his athletic coaches, and former competitors, it is proudly stated that Dave was one of Chelmsford High School's outstanding athletes. The admiration for Dave by his teammates, coaches, friends and acquaintances, moved one of Dave's HIgh School coaching mentors to refer to him as having 'The Heart of a Lion'. This was how he competed in his sports and as we all know now, this was how he battled his Multiple Myeloma for over 2 years.
So, we, a small group of the many friends of Dave, are very excited to announce a special weekend honoring Dave's life with a dedication ceremony at the Chelmsford High School wrestling match against Westford Academy on Saturday, December 12th at
3 pm. This ceremony will unveil a brand new wrestling mat with Dave's name, his championship titles for the 1969 and 1970 seasons, and at the top of the mat will be the inscription 'The Heart of a Lion'. Along with this very special gift to the Chelmsford HIgh School Athletic program, we will be announcing a scholarship award to the outstanding male and female athlete of the year. The award will be named the 'Dave Tousignant, Heart of a Lion' award. (For those of you who did not go to Chelmsford High School, the LIon was our mascot.)
On Friday evening (the night before the match), December 11th at 7:30 pm, at the Chelmsford High School Performing Arts Center, 'The Friends of Dave' committee will be presenting a major fundraising event entitled 'A Jazzy, Snazzy Christmas'.
(Ed. note: now wouldn't Dave have loved the name of that!!) . For your entertainment, this event will feature a 25 piece orchestra, along with outstanding vocalists, presenting a combination of Big Band Jazz and the beautiful music of the Holiday Season. The evening will also feature raffles with great prizes, special guest speakers and a very memorable video presentation.
We are asking for your help to make this very special weekend a success for a very special guy, Dave Tousignant. Invite your friends, co workers, classmates, family members to join us for a memorable weekend, beginning with a Fundraiser Concert and ending with a Dedication Ceremony.
Keep checking the blog for updated event planning, and ticket sales. We promise, it will be a wonderful weekend!!

Editors Note: Dave would be humbled by this gesture, of course, but he would be honored to know that The Chelmsford Athletic Program will benefit from the love and generosity of the friends and family who were a part of his Life.

Thank you, thank you for a fabulous account of our years w/Dave. Great work, girlfriend. Smiles and blessings. Dennis
